Our Core Principle: Browser-First Processing
LazyPDF is designed with privacy at its core. The majority of our PDF tools (merge, split, rotate, watermark, organize, page numbers, OCR, PDF to JPG, image to PDF) run entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded to any server. They stay on your device throughout the entire process.
A small number of tools (compress, protect, unlock, document conversions) require server-side processing. For these tools, your files are uploaded to our secure server, processed, and immediately deleted. Files are never stored beyond the processing time.
Data We Collect
Navigation Data
Like most websites, our hosting providers (Vercel, Hetzner) may automatically collect certain technical information: IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used solely for maintaining the service and security purposes.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings.
Your PDF Files
For client-side tools: your files never leave your browser. We have zero access to them. For server-side tools: files are transmitted over encrypted HTTPS, processed in memory, and immediately deleted after the result is returned. No copies are stored.
Cookies
LazyPDF itself does not set cookies for tracking purposes. However, third-party services (Google AdSense) may set cookies for advertising purposes. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.
Data Retention
PDF files processed server-side: deleted immediately after processing. Navigation logs: retained by hosting providers per their standard policies (typically 30-90 days). We do not maintain any user accounts or store personal information.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify, delete, and port your personal data, as well as the right to restrict or object to processing.
